Objective
To use my understanding of the 3D dimensions of an object in order to recreate the design in Adobe Illustrator using coloured gradient maps and to expand the design to create a full advertisement infographic for the recreated toy.
Process
The process of the project began with selecting a toy to be the subject for the final layout and infographic. I chose this Rolly-Polly toy so that I could challenge myself with a variety of different textures, colours and 3D shapes. I believe that the different levels of gloss on different materials provided a satisfying challenge without losing quality because of its medium.
The first stage of the project involved traditional illustrations of the chosen toy in separate angles and styles to better understand the construction and 3D volume of the object.
The second stage involved recreating the toy in Adobe Illustrator using coloured gradient maps as well as techniques to recreate different textures and materials.
Finally, we used our finished renders in order to create a detailed infographic, showing our use of different tools and layout design for Adobe Illustrator.
