Objective
To create a stylized self-portrait which reflects both myself and my artwork using Adobe Illustrator.
Process
I began this process by deciding what style I wanted to represent myself with. I chose a sort of Neo-Traditional tattoo style for my self-portrait, as it represented both my love for tattooing, which I have integrated into a great deal of my design work as well as my own personal love for the medium with all of its advantages and drawbacks.
I began the design as a simple sketch in a drawing program in order to break it up in interesting ways and segment the different sections of the portrait so that it would better follow the emulated style later on in the process. I then brought my base design into Adobe Illustrator to create the final composition, including the floral decals in the back.
Medium/Tools Used
This project required both Adobe Photoshop as well as Adobe Illustrator in order to finish. I used Photoshop for the initial concept creation and split up the portrait photo into the current unique layout, where I then switched over to Illustrator in order to create all of the aspects of the actual final design.
